With the official start of my summer vacation from work, a set routine is not in the cards for us. Patrick and I have been catching up on playtime, singing London Bridges Falling Down, stomping in puddles, and rolling around in the grass. You guys, I cannot express through words how completely joyful I feel!
We were invited to a birthday party at Kalahari Waterpark over the weekend. Besides walking for what felt like miles (I opted not to bring the stroller - bad idea), we both had a blast. Granted, I was exhausted after three hours of carrying, chasing, walking, running, going up & down steps, keeping an eye in the water, etc. Pregnancy has a way of doing that to a normal energy level.
Patrick loved the water, despite having to wear a flotation device that borders on choking.
My kid is obviously pissed. He just wanted to climb over the fence (he tried) and point at ducks and waterfalls. Damn you, Mom.
It finally got into the 80's and we were able to bust out the baby pool. He wanted me to get in there with him of course. So I did. Over and over! What is with kids not being affected by the temperature of water?! It was freezing, and it didn't even faze him!
Give me a break, look at those thighs. It's like looking at my husband 25 years ago.
Oh yeah, three summer must-haves for toddlers: swim trunks from Zara Baby (they're out of the stripes but they have a couple of adorable prints), Lil Mater Power Wheels, and Stride Rite sandals (great for inside, outside, the beach, the pool, etc). I'm also on the market for a water table and anything else that squirts water in a million directions.
Bring on summer!
