By far the best parts of these long weeks of maternity leave are when we can get outdoors.  Connor has really been throwing us for a loop (see:  next post...) and it seems that breathing in the country air puts that little feller right to sleep, so of course we head out whenever we can.  The thermometer read 38° this afternoon but it felt like 50° - it was glorious.  We said hi to the cows, I straightened some of my wreaths on the windows, we checked the mail and we threw walnuts. 

Patrick suddenly stopped playing, put his hand up to his ear and said Mommy, you hear something?  I said Yes, I think you hear the trucks on the highway.  He said No, it's the leaves.  (They were rustling).  That kid makes my day.
